Microbial Ecology

Microbial roles in freshwater, marine and terrestrial ecosystems will be studied. Emphasis is placed on the metabolic diversity of specialized microbial communities found in natural habitats. Microbial function in natural and constructed degradation or remediation processes will be examined from an ecological perspective. Prerequisites: BI374. (BI309 is strongly recommended as a prerquisite or co-requisite). Notes: 3 lecture hours, 3 lab hours per week
